REPORTING TO: Executive: International Operations

JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring accurate technical drawing service to enable the factories to manufacture components and assemblies to specifications and to provide technical support to sales and marketing departments.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Preparation of production drawings and GA’s within parameters of existing CAD packages
  • Compile material lists, BOM’s and generation of codes
  • Propose general and specific design details
  • Ensure activities are planned, assigned , executed and verified
  • Ensure design parameters comply with relevant statutory regulations, standards and codes of practice
  • Ensure procedures, design specifications, ISO standards, quality and safety standards are adhered to and integrated into a design.
  • Maintain engineering register
  • Provide technical support to sales and marketing departments.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Matric with Mathematics, Science and Engineering experience
  • Relevant draughtsman qualification
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification; Advanced Diploma / Degree

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years Technical or Mechanical Draughting experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Creo parametric CAD software
  • Understanding of drawing standards
  • Sage X3
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Problem solving, analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
