REPORTING TO: Chief Operating Officer
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: The primary purpose of this position is Material Requirements Planning and to provide support to Operations and Supply Chain Management, including: Sales & Operations (S&OP), Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Inventory Optimisation, prioritizing customer requests.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Lead and develop the planning team, fostering accountability and ownership
- Develop and manage own performance contract and that of the planning team.
- Develop and maintain an integrated S&OP process, between Sales and manufacturing.
- Translate customer demand into executable production and procurement plans, considering capacity, materials constraints, and lead times.
- Participate in the development of revenue forecast, providing manufacturing input according to the production plan.
- Facilitate and support Operations with Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
- Inventory optimisation through effective MRP
- Maintain MRP Parameters and Settings such as lead times, replenishment and Safety Stock on ERP (SAGE)
- Track weekly adherence to plan, investigate the reasons, facilitate implementation of corrective actions and report back to the Sales department.
- Generate a detailed weekly report on the customers’ order status
- Detailed reporting of COF and implementation of measures to address causes to deviations.
- Detailed reporting of late orders and implementation of measures to reduce the late order book.
- Collaborate with the procurement and stores team to ensure that the correct materials are available for production, on time in full.
- Technical advice and support to Procurement, Suppliers and Operations as required
- Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams in pursuit of operational excellence
- Participate in the monthly MANCO meetings presenting financial year to date results against the relevant KPI targets.
- Collaborate with the Sage team to improve the accuracy of the master data and optimise system utilization.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least a National Diploma (3 years) Engineering or Operations/Production management.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5 years’ production planning experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
