REPORTING TO: Technical Manager

JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: As a Mechanical Draughtsperson Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the R&D and engineering teams by producing accurate technical drawings. You will act as a liaison between the drawing office and the manufacturing team, while also contributing to the core activities of the R&D office and workshop.

You will collaborate closely with both the technical and R&D teams to assist in product development and provide support to the manufacturing team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience at the intersection of engineering design and manufacturing.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES): 

  • Provide support to the Technical Team at DFC.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Relevant qualification in mechanical draughting.
  • Familiarity in Autodesk Inventor 3D modelling software.
  • Familiarity in 2D drawing Auto cad
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to details, ensuring accuracy.
  • Supporting school portfolio.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • No work experience required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  • Microsoft office, mainly basic knowledge of Excel
  • Understanding of financial accounting and costing principles

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: 

  • Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Power point and Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn with a strong work ethic.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical drawings.
