REPORTING TO: Quality Technician
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Seeking an aspiring Quality Practitioner with a background in valve manufacturing to conduct comprehensive quality inspections, perform data analysis, and ensure adherence to specifications. This role involves utilizing measuring equipment, conducting receiving inspections, and maintaining accurate records of quality control activities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Perform quality inspections on various types of valves manufactured in our facilities.
- Utilize engineering expertise to assess product quality and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, defects, and areas for improvement.
- Utilize measuring equipment and tools commonly used in machining and manufacturing processes.
- Perform receiving inspections to ensure incoming materials meet required standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of quality control activities.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma (Quality, or any Engineering qualification related to manufacturing will be advantageous)
- Certification or training in quality inspection or quality assurance.
- Engineering qualification at NQF level 5 or higher.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in the valve manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) methods.
- Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
- Proficiency in data analysis and ability to interpret technical specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to operate measuring equipment and tools used in machining processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to implement effective corrective actions.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and quality control methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
